...McAvoy stars as a 25-year-old who learns he has cancer, a character based on the real experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser who was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s and successfully battled the disease over several years. Rogen also has a role in the film.

Kendrick will play the role of Katherine, a young psychologist assigned to handle Adam's case despite her lack of real life experience.

The film will begin principal photography in February in Vancouver, Rogen's hometown.

Mandate International will be handling international sales at the European Film Market in Berlin next month.

"Gossip Girl" actor Sebastian Stan will star opposite Ashley Green in "The Apparition," a supernatural horror project from Dark Castle Entertainment. Todd Lincoln is directing.

Stan joins Green in the story of a couple who are haunted by a supernatural presence that is unleashed during a college experiment. Lincoln wrote the script, which is said to be inspired by true events.

Shooting is scheduled to begin Feb. 1 at Studio Babelsberg in Germany, then moves to Los Angeles in March.
